【摘要】:Thetestmethodsdescribedinthisfire-test-responsestandardareusedfordeterminingthefire-testresponseofcolumns,girders,beamsorsimilarstructuralmembers,andfire-containmentwalls,ofeitherhomogeneousorcompositeconstruction,thatareemployedinHPIorotherfacilitiessubjecttolargehydrocarbonpoolfires.Itistheintentthattestsconductedinaccordancewiththesetestmethodswillindicatewhetherstructuralmembersofassemblies,orfire-containmentwallassemblies,willcontinuetoperformtheirintendedfunctionduringtheperiodoffireexposure.Thesetestsshouldnotbeconstruedasimplyingsuitabilityforuseafterfireexposure.Thesetestmethodsprescribeastandardfireexposureforcomparingtherelativeperformanceofdifferentstructuralandfire-containmentwallassembliesundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions.Theapplicationofthesetestresultstopredicttheperformanceofactualassemblieswhenexposedtolargepoolfiresrequiresacarefulengineeringevaluation.Thesetestmethodsmaybeusefulfortestingotheritemssuchaspiping,electricalcircuitsinconduit,floorsordecks,andcabletrays.Becausefailurecriteriaandtestspecimendescriptionsarenotprovidedinthesetestmethods,testingthesetypesofitemswillrequireappropriatespecimendetailsandend-pointorfailurecriteria.Limitations-Thesetestmethodsdonotprovidethefollowing:Fullinformationontheperformanceofassembliesconstructedwithcomponentsorofdimensionsotherthanthosetested.Anevaluationofthedegreetowhichtheassemblycontributestothefirehazardthroughthegenerationofsmoke,toxicgases,orotherproductsofcombustion.Simulationoffirebehaviorofjointsorconnectionsbetweenstructuralelementssuchasbeam-to-columnconnections.Measurementofflamespreadoverthesurfaceofthetestassembly.Proceduresformeasuringthetestperformanceofotherstructuralshapes(suchasvesselskirts),equipment(suchaselectricalcables,motor-operatedvalves,etc.),oritemssubjecttolargehydrocarbonpoolfires,otherthanthosedescribedin1,1.Theerosiveeffectthatthevelocitiesorturbulence,orboth,generatedinlargepoolfireshasonsomefireprotectionmaterials.Fullinformationontheperformanceofassembliesattimeslessthan5minbecausetherisetimecalledoutinSection5islongerthanthatofarealfire.Thesetestmethodsdonotprecludetheuseofarealfireoranyothermethodofevaluatingtheperformanceofstructuralmembersandassembliesinsimulatedfireconditions.AnytestmethodthatisdemonstratedtocomplywithSection5isacceptable.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandardshouldbeusedtomeasureanddescribetheresponseofmaterials,products,orassembliestoheatandflameundercontrolledconditionsbutdoesnotbyitselfincorporateallfactorsrequiredforfire-hazardorfire-riskassessmentofthematerials,products,orassembliesunderactualfireconditions.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatoryinformation.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequriementsofthestandard.
