【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardspecifiestherequirementsandmethodsoftestfortheconstructionandfittingoffireguardsintendedforusewithheatingappliancesutilizingorganicfuel(e.g.gas,solidfuel,oiletc.)orelectricity,andwhichcanbesituatedinanopenareaoragainstoronawall,orwithinarecess.Suchappliancescanbepermanentlyfixedinpositionorcanbemoveable,andcanincorporateopenfiresincludingcombinationgrates,orclosedfires,includingroomheatersandstoves.Thisstandardisintendedtoprotectpeoplefromfallingintoafire,preventburnsandreducetheriskofinjury,particularlytoyoungchildrenandtheinfirm.Inadditionitwillreducetheriskoffireresultingfromclothingand/orotherflammablematerialscomingintocontactwith,orinproximityto,burningfueland/orhotsurfaces.ThefireguardsspecifiedarenotintendedtoreducetheriskoffirescausedbyflyingparticleswhicharecoveredbyBS3248.
